Burgeoning Success Story: Freckles

Freckles’ mom wrote us a Facebook message to say: “Freckles just wanted to say thank you Joanna for helping him make a new human friend, our training tonight went WONDERFUL!!” Freckles is afraid of new people, and doesn’t make friends easily, so this is big news for him.  Good job, buddy!

South Reno: Watch for Chance!

If you live in South Reno, please help find Chance! He is owned by one of our best clients, and he vanished at some point on Friday the 24th, in the area of Veterans and South Meadows Pkwy, in Double Diamond. He’s an indoor-only kitty, so likely is hiding and scared and probably hasn’t gone […]

Success Story: Ralphie

Ralphie is a rescued dog who had been in some dog fights – including a particularly severe one which most likely happened because he was tied in someone’s yard.  With some patience, training, and the proper introduction techniques, he’s learned to be more appropriate with other dogs, and has even made some friends!

What’s happened to our dog breeds in the last 100 years?

And why are we breeding dogs whose “breed characteristics exact a health burden?”  I thought I was the only one wondering this until I read this article.  It’s thought provoking. “At one time the Bull Terrier was a handsome, athletic dog. Somewhere along its journey to a mutated skull and thick abdomen the bull terrier […]

What we’ve been doing lately

Without further ado, here’s what our clients have been up to so far this summer! Our Reality Romp class took a trip to Bartley Ranch to practice off-leash control and their recall using long lines. And in a later class, we went to get some frozen yogurt, and practice the manners that come with the […]

April’s client photos

You know what they say about “April Showers…” No flowers, here. Despite her raincoat, Molly does not enjoy getting caught in the rain. Riley also thought his sweet raincoat would protect him. Not enough, apparently. Pogo (left) and Gracie (the mudball), on the other hand, regret nothing!! Gauge (left) and Bryce are perfectly at home […]

Spring Shenanigans

Boy, we can’t wait for spring.  Maybe some shenanigans will make it come faster! Liz the bearded dragon and Thumpy the box tortoise just cruise around the house like this. All the time. Stark, Jamie, and Cinder horse around in the snow Jimmy the cockatiel entertains himself by destroying his mom’s house plants. (Don’t worry, […]
