We originally signed up for the [in-person] Basic Manners class, but when the possibility of a second shutdown due to Covid was looming, we decided to try the online course. I’m so happy we made this decision. Not only did it save us the obligation of 6 Saturdays, we were able to watch the weekly training videos at our convenience and rewatch them as needed. The weekly videos and emails were really informative. I highly recommend the online class, especially for those with a busy schedule. Not to mention it saves a little money as well.

Fur and Feather Works came HIGHLY recommended to us through Canines with a Cause. We are SO pleased we followed their advice. Owning any pet is a giant responsibility. Owning a Great Dane is literally a GIANT responsibility. The positive reinforcement was a refreshing change to training. I’ve been asked over and over, how does online puppy training work? Very well, that’s how!
Crawl, walk, run. That is how the lessons are structured online; Joanna provides resources for most situations (jumping on people, stay, sit) you will encounter with your pup. You can watch as many times as you’d like. That’s not available during an in-person class. The weekly drop-off play date was an excellent way to socialize during the quarantine.
Now it’s our turn to HIGHLY recommend Fur and Feather Works for puppy training. You’ll be amazed at how much you still have to learn. Rose is the happiest puppy. Worth every penny!

We just completed the semi-virtual puppy kindergarten class and would highly recommend it. We went through puppy kindergarten with our first puppy a few years back and had such great results we knew wanted to return to Fur and Feather Works when we adopted another pup. I was a little skeptical about the online format but decided to try it anyway. I quickly found that getting the video tutorials in our puppy’s home setting actually made teaching the skills and training him easier for us to follow through with. That paired with the weekly playdate (which also gives the pups some time with a “real” trainer) has made a huge difference in our pups listening skills and acceptance of new things. I would highly recommend the online program to anyone looking for ways to learn to work with their puppy on basic skills and getting more comfortable in the world around them.

Online Puppy Kindergarten Class was so fun and innovative! We had a new assignment each week with step-by-step training tips, plus weekly socialization suggestions to help our puppies learn about their new world.
The puppies then got a weekly hour-long play date at the training center with another pup, with Joanna supervising the play, plus introducing them to equipment and training. My puppy thoroughly enjoyed the class and especially play time!

Delta and I learned so much from the online Puppy class. Delta loved going to her weekly play date. Being able to have a weekly Zoom meeting where I could ask all the questions that come up from the week was so helpful. I was able to work on so much more with Delta because of this and we overcame many struggles we were having.

Having a puppy during COVID sequestering is certainly not the ideal circumstance. In an attempt to do SOMETHING with my pup, I took an online puppy socialization class with Fur & Feather Works & have been so happy with the outcome! My Beardie, Deke was able to play & learn to adapt to differing play styles with different pups! He gained confidence with the simple puppy challenges offered to him by someone other than family members & Joanna’s ability to read dogs led to great considerations for training as we tackled the at-home assignments for socialization & training. I would readily take a course like this in the future!
